2018 Subaru BRZ TS glorious Package, The tS version of the BRZ takes everything that’s nice regarding the bottom automotive and makes it glorious — perhaps even too sensible, if you prefer flinging the stern around.
From our 1st drive:
Since the Subaru BRZ has been on the market since 2012, it would seem that it is a fairly seasoned vehicle. The problem is that the straightforward and largely ageless formula of a moderately powered coupe with rear-wheel drive is a concept that has genuine legs and yet feels novel because it offers enormous enjoyment at an affordable price. In 2017, the BRZ lineup had a wash and brush up, and this tS model was subsequently unveiled as the flagship model.
The 2.0-liter flat-four engine still produces 152kW and 212Nm, and Subaru has historically resisted drastically expanding the BRZ’s power output. In keeping with tradition, the tS has a sharpened dynamics package but no additional power.
The Japan-only BRZ STI Sport is where the BRZ tS gets a lot of its technology. To increase the BRZ’s rigidity and steering precision, the dampers have been improved and paired with STI coil springs. Additionally, a flexible V-shaped brace and draw stiffener have been added.
Brembo calipers have been added to the brake system, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires offer significantly more traction than the BRZ’s original Michelin Primacy HP rubber. The car therefore grips far more often than it slips, which is likely to appeal to some who demand precision but displease those who enjoy lairy slides at the touch of the right-hand pedal.
A new front bumper bar, tS badging, black 18-inch alloy wheels, and a black rear spoiler are among the visual alterations. STI insignia can be seen on the starter button and steering wheel, among other inside accents. Red seat decorations and seat belts making the cabin feel more upbeat.
